What mode to do my expedition in?

So I was going to do my trip in Mobius. But hearing recent events... I'm thinking of doing it in solo. Anyone agree this might be the best idea?

On that topic, would anyone say that there is a noticeable performance difference between solo Vs. the other modes? I.e. core travel runs a tad' smoother?

Sometimes, and in some places, Solo is much smoother. But (and I have my fingers very tightly crossed) I haven't had any lengthy frameshift delays or system scanning issues for a long time, flying mostly in KAMZEL private group and occasionally in Open too. In point of fact I was thinking about how extraordinarily smooth and reliable everything seems to be... :D

I wouldn't worry too much about eejits - presumably the Mobius thing you're referring to is yet another griefing numpty thinking they're the first person in the world to come up with the idea of infiltrating a private pve group for the lulz - if you're going any distance from civilisation; you're only likely to encounter other CMDRs at the major waypoints, and even then maybe not; I was at Sadge in Open yesterday and the place was deserted.

I suppose I could do it in Kamzel. I still have access to the group. Though I'll ask if it's okay to do that. I'm not technically part of DW anymore so I don't want to hijack a group designed with a specific purpose. Who is the moderator of Kamzel again, forum name that is? I want to send him a PM asking for permission to continue using the group.

I usually do it solo. The chances of meeting anybody are incredibly remote anyway and you are guaranteed smooth and quick jumps. Also, I don't get the "open is the real way to play" meme. Open is the same as solo but with some people in it.

Kamzel is only for people who fly in the DW fleet ? I mostly do my own thing, but 90% of the people on my friends list are now in a private group, and I'm assuming it's this one. I kind of miss seeing where all the other explorers are in the galaxy, so I applied to join. I wasn't aware there was any specific requirement, but then I didn't research it too closely.

Seeing that you are an unofficial DW ambassador, staying in Kamzel shouldn't be a problem. You know what Erimus said - once a member of fleet com, always a member of fleet com. :)
