What Next?

After 1,000 hours reached Tycoon. Did not use any trade tools. My goal was to get to Elite. But another 146 hours of trading and I think I would end up talking to my imagery co-pilot. I am Pathfinder 9%. Will it be quicker to get to Elite in exploration than trade? Should I forget Elite rank and go exploring? Tempted to sell everything and buy a Explorer conda. I would have 400 million to spend. What would you do?

I wouldn't go exploring in a Conda, save yourself 380m cr and get an Asp.

You'll likely hit Elite in trading quicker.

Use some trade tools

- You can make >8m CR/HR with a good route in a trade 'Conda (more enjoyable than a space cow!)
- 1% = 6.5m
- 650m / 8m = 81.25 hrs to reach Elite

Save yourself over 60 hours ^^


Thrudds and Elite Trade Net are sufficient, no need to install any 3rd party apps on your machine.

I was in a similar position to you a few weeks back. I decided to get to rank 5 Li Yong Rui, kitted out an Asp explorer & spent some time out in the neutron stars, about 10k ly out from the bubble. I came home a week or so later, made 70m credits from the data with the 3x bonus from pledging. I am now an Elite explorer

Reaching elite is good if you don't have the multipass for Founders World. It's stocked up with everything from ships to upgrades, and correct me if wrong, sells for a discount. A good home system if I ever saw one.

I think elite explorer is probably the "easiest" of the three - much less time than trading and less reliant on uncontrollable variability like combat.

160 million can be made exploring in about 80 hours of heavy duty exploring in the neutron fields.

Plus you'd have a great photo album when you're done.

Thanks for all the input. I have purchased an A grade ASP. Tomorrow I will swap the Type-9 for an explorer conda. Going to keep my multi purpose Python. I am then going to take a break from trading and go exploring and look for possible trade routes. Would love to find one of the mythical 8 million an hour routes.

Going to seek out one of those 8 million routes thanks. Never used the tools before.
