Horizons What Next?

Hi all I am curious to get your thoughts on what my next move / purchase should be!

I currently only play offline, and have 5.1M credits. Lets call it a safe 4.0M just for a nice reserve.

I play in my home system of Eravate, I generally stray no more than 30LY from the system...because that's just me :)

I have a Vulture for killing, and a Diamond Back Explorer for transport/fun stuff.

My ships include the following:

My few ideas were:
Absolutely tank up the vulture like a mad man.
Tank up the diamondback, for very secure transport.
Buy a Dolphin
Buy a T-6/Keelback
Buy a Eagle / Viper again and tank it out just to have fun zipping around on bounty hunts.

I don't have any engineering upgrades, the first engineer is like 100LY away. I really don't fancy pressing J all night long. Because of this and the fact I don't enjoy going 400,000LS in a straight line, I don't think I'd be good for exploring either.

I do however like the logistics of trading / missions, and the general bounty hunting at RES, and conflict zones.

What do you guys think? Ideas?

Looking forward to the suggestions!

If you buy a Keelback you can experiment with a Ship Launched Fighter (SLF) also. It's the most affordable ship to be able to do that. I would suggest giving it a try and see how it can help in combat.

I loved my Vulture, get twin Pacifiers on it and you will be a god amongst mere mortals!!..if you engineer it. :D

100Ly isn't far, you have a diamondback yes? with an explorer build you could smash that in 4 jumps!!

I recommended you start putting the time in unlocking engineers, it is fun doing all the activities. and more fun when you have a ship that excels well beyond it's limits.

I recommend travelling to Maia, getting three mete alloys and coming back to Decait to unlock Felicity Farseer, who can massively upgrade your FSD :D
Zachariah Nemo is suited for Frags, but Tod McQuin is also fine.

In general, just grind them all (not the Colonia ones as they are all the same anyway for the poor sods who torture themselves to go out there :D )

Make a long jump DBX, then go see Elvira or Felicity to get a level 5 increased range FSD, which will take it up to about 60LY jump range, then go and unlock the Guardisn FSD booster. that will get you over 70LY jump range. Now you have a nice taxi for running around the engineers, so you can sort them all out.

Quoted for truth [up]

It works with a T6 too, with the added benefit that you can use the T6 for the Engineer rares (not that much jumprange though).

It depends on what your ultimate goals are, but if you're looking to build a bankroll, running passengers is a great way to do it.

My opinion is grab a Dolphin, stack it with economy cabins, and start shuttling those intergalactic peoples.

Good luck!

OP I would fully A rate your FSD for a start. Then unlock Felicity Farseer to get the Engineered FSD to max range. Exploring is nothing to be worried about and it's one route to Elite that will unlock Founders World and Jameson Memorial which holds every ship and every module. Good luck to you in whatever you want to do with this game. Just get away from Eravate. There are better home systems such as Ohm City in LHS 20 system or Ray Gateway in DIAGUANDRI system.

Just remember if you do decide to move away from Eravate you will need to develope your new system REP. Good luck.
