What now?

Planetary landings sounds exciting but it's my understanding that it is scheduled for release sometime in 2016 - which could potentially be over a year away. So after today's news I'm wondering if FD have given out any clues as to what is next on their super secret roadmap? I'm specifically talking about them filling in the cracks between now and the release of CQC and then after the release of CQC and the release Horizons.

I'm hoping that development on the core game will not slow down because there hasn't been much to entice me back to the game since PP beta (bar a brief moment of weakness).

Probably 2 more phases in 2016, adding more complex planets, including Earth-Likes. Whether we will get DBOBE's big game hunting for dentists remains to be seen.

And, by inference, another expansion (probably going walkies) for December 2016.

Edit: Work on the core game slowed down ages ago, some would argue before release. CQC and powerplay are not really core game. Especially when exploration, mining, smuggling, piracy, etc., etc., needs love.

In lieu of any core game updates I guess I'll be busy doing stuff other than play FD - at least until CQC and PL arrive.

Ah, you're referring to contrived hobby hunting on a corrupt independent world, costing 50 million credits a time, which earns the player wide notoriety on Galnet as well as a negative rep of 'hostile' with all factions.

No earth-likes or atmospheric planets in Horizons, as confirmed by Michael Brooks (Still hoping for gas-giants :/ ). So I guess there is a 100% chance that there will be no big game hunting, since there is no life on the ground, except for planetary bases.
If following this progression, I would bet on atmospheric planets with hopefully earth-likes in december 2016 and introduction to walking around in december 2017, probably just walking around in your ship or something.
