What Rank for an Imperial Cutter ?

Desperate to buy a Cutter but I have not really spent much time trying to gain Rank. I am now at Master - just how many more promotions do I need to earn before I can get a Cutter ? Also, does Reputation have any impact on the Rank needed ??

Duke, is the minimum rank for a Cutter. http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Empire#Ranks

I did the grind for the Federation ranks to get the Corvette, but it is too exhausting. I am just going to wait until ALD is assassinated / has a baby / gets married / throws a random party and then the Empire will temporarily suspend the rank requirements for all their ships. That is how I got my Clipper and Courier.

I would be able to stop playing the game if that was going to occur.

I would... probably get back to it in few days, true. But I would feel really backstabbed.
I still hope that they will make navy ranks mutually exclusive, one day.

Mutually Exclusive naval ranks would be a horrible idea for anyone that took the time to get to rear admiral and duke. Also, it is pretty unfair to lock someone out of a buying the cutter just because they bought a Corvette or vice versa.

Don't wait, go and merry her, this makes you probably even life-time free of any rank requirements for whatever there will come in future.
