Before I sold up to move away from my home system to go do a community mission I had the following all parked up, totally unnecessary I know but what the hell: fully equipped eagle for smuggling missions or couriering items weighing 4 t or less and maybe the odd pirate mission, fully equipped viper for bounty hunting or kill pirate missions, fully equipped cobra for bigger cargo missions and occasional mining, Type 7 for straight up trading which eventually got upgraded to Clipper when I hit the right Imperial rank and an exploration equipped Adder for when I fancied a wander.
Part of the beauty of the game is that the parts are interchangeable between ships so if you have a few bits and pieces on one ship that took some getting you can just strip them and re-buy them back for your other ships as needed.
At present I am down to the Clipper and an exploration equipped Hauler which I am shortly to get rid of after a recent ill-fated trip that ended with my death and the loss of several hours of exploration data, grumble.
