What ship will you be exploring in?

For all those that intend to go off into the unknown...what ship are you hoping to use?

I can't see many wanting to rely on the Sidewinder for their adventures into the great unexplored. I know I won't be. At the moment though I have no idea what ship I would want to use.

Cobra ... Just seems right.

Although I am curious how running costs/repairs would affect using an Anaconda.

All going well, I'll be scraping enough credits to buy myself my favourite ship from Frontier...

Although have to say, the models I've seen for the ED version is nowhere near as sexy!

Is that an Imperial Courier? (I've never played Frontier so I'm not sure)
I think an Asp would be perfect for exploration: Fast, does well in a fight, lots of equipment, efficent. Little cargo space, though.

It's not known which ship models will have a long range exploration version other than the Cobra yet, so realistically that's the only one we can currently mention at the moment.

Are there any details about the 'long range Cobra' or just what was mentioned in the Kickstarter?

"Asp Explorer", clue is in the name!

Although if you want to fly in style, Fer de Lance.

Edit: Doh, totally ninjad.

P.S. ninjad is now a word in my dictionary.

Apparently this is an imperial courier who flies upside down

From an RP perspective, I'd want something like an Anaconda. Plenty of cargo space for supplies to keep you going, and you'd even be able to convert some of that space into some cosy living space :D

Important to be able to make several big jogging, when we are in the deep space. The treadmill is monotonous

:p

The Asp will be my preferred ship for exploration. Unless of course one of the 25 ships in the game that we don't know about yet will be better. ;)

Depends on the ship's engine ranges, quite frankly :)

Although, from the Kickstarter options, starting in a long-range version of the Cobra Mk3 with 3000 credits on the edge of known space seems a good option.

It's hard to decide at the moment as only a fraction of the ship roster is out. Always loved the Cobra though. :)
