Ships What ships should I add to my fleet?

I recently ported over my account to PC and lost my rank, ships, engineering. Right now on the fresh account I have 500 million credits and a KRAIT MK2 that is worth about 140 million. I am looking to have three purpose built ships. I want one for exploration, one for combat/piracy, and one for mining/passenger/smuggling.

Exploration: I have decided on the Krait Phantom

Combat/Piracy: I am thinking my Krait MK2 or FDL

Mining/Passenger/smuggling: I am thinking Python or possibly the Krait MK2 if i grab the FDL for combat instead of the Krait MK2

The only large ship i think is worth the money is the corvette but i have to regrin my rank for that so it is off the table for now. The anaconda is too boaty for me.

What are your suggestions? Feel free to add other ships if you think them good for the rolls. I just put the ships down that I like the most.

EDITED TO ADD: Krait MK2 is currently set up for mining because I wanted to get to 500 million and that was the ship I had on hand. Actually works pretty well for that task.

Although i love the krait mk2 and how it fly's, the python i feel is better as a mining/trading/passanger ship due to that extra 6 optional slot. I use a python as a mining/trading ship/collector ship

Krait phantom is a solid choice, any ship can be used for exploration . I use a krait mk2 so i can take a slf for canyon running and a pvh for landing on planets

I've not bothered with combat so i can't help with that.

Unless you don't mind swapping load outs i'd a have a separate ship for passenger missions to a mining/trading ship.

Pick a small ship and engineer the hell out of it. Doesn't matter which one, Sidewinder, Cobra, Viper 3 or 4, Vulture, iCourier, DBS, Eagle, iEagle.

Create a new ship role in your list called "extremely fun to fly" then use it to fill that role.

Why not one of each? Ultra-specialisation is boring. WIth one of each ship in the game, you can just swap a few components and do whatever you want, in whatever ship takes you fancy that day, no matter whether it's "the best" at that task or not. Try something new. Have fun.
