Proposal Discussion What the ED Universe Needs - People

Space is a lonely place, but shouldn't be inside stations. Having those crazy NPC walking around would add so much to immersion. Also wanna see my cargo unloading, instead of magically *poof*. And how cool would be to approach a station and see some repairmen fixing the entrance or glitchy billboards?

Wait until we have diners in those new outposts..

I agree wholeheartedly.

The other place people are needed are actually in the seats of ships. It's a bit weird right now flying up to a ship and seeing the cockpit is empty. Very disconcerting.

DB has already mentioned stowing away on ships, as in the fps expansion for walking around space stations, so I would imagine we'd be allowed to walk around the docking area of a ship. It's going to be one hell of a trip standing on the edge of a docking bay, whilst watching a ship touch down, don't know what they'll do about life & death if you get squished though, maybe you don't die, but you'd have to pay medical fees, instead of insurance.

Space stations have roads because they are so big. We would hopefully be able to operate land vehicles on these roads and/or ride in driverless vehicles.

Does anyone know if there is supposed to be air filling the entire station? It seems to me that the entrance to the station is a kind of force field that allows ships to fly through but keeps the air from leaking out - a bit like the hangers of the Death Star in Star Wars.

Talking about filling the space stations, if the area of one of the rings at the Aulin stations is equal to the area of GTA 4, they really need to make them alive somehow. Otherwise it will look like a zombie game where you run everytime you see a person ;D

Yup, IIRC it's supposed to be 0.1G and breathable in there. DB has mentioned that in that environment a person could lift one ton. Interesting then that all our cargo is packaged in 1 ton canisters.
