Horizons What the heck is "Guardians"?

Is it something I missed? Are these "things" (I assume) out there? What are/is they/it?

I get Engineers, there's engineers scattered throughout the bubble, but Guardians? Was there a memo I missed?

Supposed to refer to the fighters, but there is speculation it's somehow tied into the "caretakers" that former fed president Halsey mentioned after being recovered from the wreckage of starship one.

If it's referring to the fighters, then they need to rename it "Guardian" as you can only use one fighter at a time. Sad that.

I hope it's the secret thing-ama-bob protecting us from the Thargoids but, I won't hold my breath.
