Nah that was me running from the Babylon after accidently catching them with cross-fire(again)
Fairly certain it's just a graphics artifact. I've seen something similar when I was near a neutron star. I was in supercruise and it looked like a white spec, out in the distance. It would move in odd ways depending on how I moved my own ship as I tried to close on it.

I've seen this before, and I believe I even recorded it (gotta check through my dozens of Elite videos). I think its just a glitch since it seemed to only move when I pitched or rolled. If that's what happened with the op, then probably a glitch of some sort. If it didn't behave that way, then who knows. I wish there were actually some UFOs in this game, but the closest thing I've heard about like that is the Silver Comet.... which isn't an unidentified object exactly, but at least its something new and unique and mysterious.
I can't wait until we start having Thargaroid sightings and such, as long as the Thags aren't a reptilian species that hisses every time they have to pronounce an S.
