What the hell is this?

Uhm, just have a look:

doodles.jpg

I am currently in the Stuemeae DJ-K C8-2435 System, looking at the Stuemeae NM-W E1-5094 Sytem (Black Hole).
What's with those doodles in the nebula?
Are these hints left by aliens or merely doodles left by some texture artist's child?
Or is this a bad dev joke?

Looks more like a rocket, a pyramid, and a chicken McNugget, from where I am.
I also have a video of this.
What is going on here?

Naw, these look like a child's doodles. No way they are "natural", or organic.
Like I said, a rocket, a pyramid and something smaller, some shape.

I think they're artifacts of the way the nebula generator is rendering.

It's almost as though each nebula has a structural wireframe to it, and for some reason that's being partially rendered :

They're a bit immersion-breaking though, perhaps report as a bug?

Yeah, well, look at this:

I guess those lines just add up to an odd ensemble from the system I am in.

Thanks, bitstorm! Have some rep!
And Murishani, have some rep, too. You're right.

I just got a text from the big guy upstairs... He said he's sorry about the lines, Jebus did it when he wasn't looking, you know what kids are like these days!

I saw something strange yesterday as well. I can remember Barnard's Loop being a lot more equally red. Yesterday it had black veiny lines running through it.
