What to do over last 3 days before ED 3.0 update lands - last chance ideas

Hello fellow CMDR,

please post your ideas what is possible, and worthwhile to be done in the last days we have. A lot of rules will change, from money making, trading, killing fellow CMDRs. Please write in this thread, what are the activities you recommend doing, before the update lands.

I'll do short summary and update the post with best ideas.

Let's start with one example:
* learning how to hunt other ships, as on 3.0 release, all bounties will be reset - hence it is a last chance to be a pirate without a penalty ;-)

Please, post specific things with some explanation, like Evoflash above.
Thank you!

If you think you're likely to be target for random pirates, buy a cheap fast ship. So they can't catch you :)
And if you get killed it's cheap to repair.
:p

I'll be trying to recover from this awful cold/flu thing I managed to catch on the plane back from Bali last Tuesday. It was only a 4 hour flight home but yep! somehow I always manage to get sick on aircraft.

If I could muster the energy to play Elite I'd probably try to improve the G5 engineering stats for my Class 5 FSD to go in a Chieftain when I buy one. But I'm not too bothered about it.

I'm going to slaughter noobs and shieldless traders before the C&P kicks in. kill, kill, KILL!!!!

...uh actually no, I've got a bunch of yard work to do... likely won't be gaming at all. :(

Exploration

Leave the bubble until the 3.0 launch frenzy is over

Fill up SRV/planetside material inventory while out in the black

Return to the bubble a few weeks after 3.0 settles down and the first few patches address the major bugs

Fill up mats and data only found in the bubble

Re-engineer the fleet

Find the new cash cow

Milk it for all it's worth

See what's in the new beta

Rinse and repeat

so on and so on

I'm going to be buying and engineering all the modules I'll need for the Chieftain. I loved the Chieftain in the beta, so will be buying it as soon as I possibly can. :)

I'm sitting waiting now .... little left to do ... maybe potter around making a few local credits, then get my ships over to Deciat that will benefit from an even better FSD roll.

Start mandatory "What will you do when 3.0 lands?" thread ..... :D

If you've ever wanted to be a rampaging Criminal for a few Days - now is the time.

Since all Crimes/Bounties/Fines will supposedly be wiped, let it rip like it was a Beta.
What Crimes happened in V2.4... stay in V2.4.

On the 27th when V3.0 launches, everyone will be clean like a saint again. No matter how many Players you killed or how many Factions you just bombed into a Lockdown.

Well I've been playing Subnautica.

Currently engaging in a grudge match with the Reaper Leviathan that hangs out around the Aurora's engines. I've engaged that sob three times and, three times it's been a draw. He can't kill me and I can't kill him.

Frustrating :(

I'll be around tonight, buying up a supply of Advanced Plasma Accelerators and engineering them to G5 so I don't have to suffer through G1-G4 24 times after 3.0...

After that though, if I'm around, and that's a big if, as I've been playing something else lately, then I might just put some time and effort into robbing some traders to take advantage of the bounty wipe.

C Q C

edit: and read the forums while waiting, hoping CQC queue will be possible form ingame some time

edit edit: and I am in. Only 3 minutes wait! :D

Ram Tah's funding is running out and the mission will apparently no longer be available once 3.0 launches (it wasn't available in the beta), so I'm scanning Ancient Ruins for fun and profit.

Normally, I would assume missions like these would bore me to tears, but I've actually been having a great time rocking around distant planets scanning obelisks with my SRV. It's rather relaxing (though ancient ruins can be surprisingly noisy), involves no combat and requires only modest piloting, driving and clerical skills.

And for me, at least, it's fun.

As for profit, even after the bonus nerf from 100Mcr to 10Mcr, a million credits a scan is still nice money, and the mission can be turned in for partial credit any time prior to expiring after a month. Completing the mission awards 111 million credits, and it can be completed in less than eight hours -- much less if speed running (which I don't do, because I enjoy the journey and take frequent breaks).

Profit-wise, I suppose board-flipped stacked AFK supercruise passenger missions pay better, but if money isn't the only object, Ram Tah offers a modest proposal.
