So I stopped playing elite because well... It got boring af. The 3 main things you can do is trading, bounty hunting and exploring. So, Now what? What to do when you've done these 3? I heard about the 1.3 update and got really hyped and decided to play again, but I have no reason to actually start it up since I will just see space and shut it down again. Infact I have the launcher open but I just don't feel like playing. So... Now what?

If you can't be bothered to play then play something else. Don't ask us to justify your existence.
However there is no way you have 'done' exploration. I see plenty of unexplored systems that don't have your name on.....
Joking aside, how about looking for the non-stellar objects Braben hinted is somewhere in deep space to be found?

You mean you can't think of anything to do yourself? If you don't feel like playing, fair enough, don't. We can't help you with other things to do. What on earth did you do before E: D was released that suddenly there is a huge dilemma now you don't want to play it?!
Just wait for 1.3 before you try it again. Or not. Your call. We don't need to be updated.
Elite is not a game for everyone. It can be a grind at times. It can be very grindy. If you can look past that you can create your very own adventure. You get to fly a starship! But, if Elite isn't for you, there is nothing wrong with that, there are plenty of other things to play out there.
Happend to me exactly as you described. I've sat at launcher for days before.
I'm actually back in the same rut again. I can't press play and if I do I sit in a station for hours.
However I've found the answer. I've already decided what I will do.
We need to find a reason to play. For some just making it up as we fly around isn't enough.
For me the background sim or powerplay is the end game. Maybe try and hook into that.

I want to play but I can't press play.
So I play another game, hour later I log, want to play Elite but again can't press play. So do something else but I want to play Elite. Return to launcher but still can't press play.
I wake up early excited but can't press play. I leave launcher there to tempt me but it doesn't work but I know the game is for me.
I am a power player. This game could not offer me that but I know it's meant to.
I've sorted it now. I'm back in game. Sort of.
it's sumer outside, and you may need some fresh air and sunlight...especially from all those hours with only a little sun (pun intended).
