What to expect from a new release?

Having joined at the start of PB I've not been through a release cycle yet so I thought I would ask for the experiences of those Alpha players out there.

So - I know about the reset of stats (with a some credit for enhancements or ships etc). I've seen the list of new features. I look forward to the optimisations.

Does a release normally get accompanied by a change log that lists all the bugs that have been squished? I just want to be clear on what to be reporting for PB2. If I've seen, reported and then had my ticket closed ("it's fixed") should I expect the fix in this release and hence if the bug persists it needs a new ticket? :S

We do get a change log usually posted by Michael Brookes in the Alpha/Beta forum, but it's more of a new feature list and only serious issues are mentioned if I remember correctly.

If Frontier have marked your issue as fixed then it's probably intended to be in the new release, is it something you can test to see if it still occurs? If it does then just log the issue again mentioning what you did in the new version and providing any more information you can to help them re-create it.

Bugs are listed in known issues thread:

This thread is usually updated when FD is ready to publish the list of fixed bugs or at the release of the new version.

If you have run into the bug that is listed as fixed in the current version you should probably report it.
