Ship Builds & Load Outs What to use as secondary weapons in a non-AX Krait MkII?

I have two Kraits, one for AX and another for non-AX. My AX version has three large gimballed Enhanced AX Multi-cannons and two medium-sized Modified Shard Cannons. I don't know if it's the absolutely optimal configuration for fighting thargoids, but I like it. Especially the shard cannons are absolutely brutal, and I love them.

It is my understanding, however, that AX weapons are no good for fighting non-thargoids (AFAIK they do only a fraction of the damage against them). I tried a similar configuration using non-AX weapons, in other words, three gimballed Multi-cannons, engineered for long range, and two medium fragment cannons.

The multi-cannons feel great, but the fragment cannons feel almost useless. Unlike the Modified Shard Cannons, the fragment cannon's projectile velocity is very slow (meaning that the target point to hit the enemy ship tends to be really far off and move all over the place, making it almost impossible to hit), the spread is crazy, and the range is pathetic. Plus, they lack that satisfying "boooom!" sound when fired.

What would be better medium-sized secondary weapons for non-AX combat? Something with decent range, very fast (or even instant) projectile velocity, decent damage. Perhaps something that takes shields down quicker, maybe. Or any other suggestions?
 
On my Krait i have two overcharged beam lasers with thermal vent for the shields and to keep things cool.
On the large hardpoints i used to have multicannons (Efficient or long range).
Now i am playing around with Zachary Hudsons Pacifiers (3 x large overcharged+screening shell), they do a lot of damage, but it is difficult to land a good hit with them.

They would be great replacements for the modshards... if not for the fact that they are only available in size 3...

Here triple Pacs on top, two gimballed beams (efficient/thermal vent) on the bottom. No real range, but then again the Pacs require knife fighting distance in any case (and the Krait Mk.II can usually do it). Never could get the hang of rails, though.
 
My Krait is all frags. Engineered for double shot and incendary. The amount of alpha damage it puts out is insane. Its not meant for long engagements due to ammo limitations, but basically get close to a ship and open fire from point blank and all but the biggest ships become an instant BBQ.

I read somewhere that you can find them at military industries, but can I just go to any?
Any help would be appreciated as I'm trying to participate in the Thargoid war.

You can find them on rescue ships, same as the caustic sink launchers and the pulse neutraliser.

Most AX weapons are sold directly in outfitting. No need to unlock them or get them from a broker.

The gimballed Enhanced AX Multi-cannon (available at least in rescue megaships) is probably what you want. Always the safe bet. Easy to use, shred thargoids to pieces.

I use 2 long range size 2 rails with super penetrative experimental.
And 3 pacifiers for the close range stuff. Their brutal. Double shot screening shell.

Only if you aren't targeting the target. The 'microgimbal' effect on fixed weapons is about half a degree wide, which generally makes long range shots quite easy if your target resolves on sensors. Indeed, because of how low ship angular velocities are at longer ranges the further away your target gets the harder it is to miss.
