PvP What was that???????

Hi All,

What was that....

Got interdicted by a player. I like those confrontations.
In 1 maybe 2 volleys on my corvette 7a shields, 6 shield boosters. Shields gone and 32% hull left. Hull and module package installed.
What?????????

i have a paper thin ship it appears. How can i defend against something with that??

NO i can not defend and dying in 5 seconds even with a corvette engineerd to the teeth.

I need to get better or just fly small ships :). Getting beter doesn't cut it, bcs when you get interdicted, its over before i can align myself to shoot back.

Still i love open.... and love ther interdictions, makes my heart thump!!!

1. there is a pvp sub forums for... pvp encounters
2. i can only guess, but since you say "volley", and you got some shields, my guess is a shotgun attack with Modded Frag cannons.
3. counter? well, even more shields and more resists. and more hull :D

If you want tips and suggestions, its best to give an exact loadout of your ship. :)
 
It could have been anti-shield generator torpedoes.

They're a total pain. Lol

A well timed ECM and speed are your friends.
Or prevent then getting a lock to begin with by using heat sinks to drop your temperature and keep it down.

rest of core internals, a grade core internals

5 secs,,,,,,, this is quickly dead :) only 1 module & 1 armour package.
normal hull.

Still , against a fer de lance..... 5 sec????

edit: G5 dirty drives, G5 burst lasers, G5 multi cannon overcharged...

now worries i like it nonetheless.
keeps me on my guard.

With those resistances and HP, I'd bet on a torpedo strike.

Had a similar thing happen to my Python. It had good shields, but absolutely pants hull (because it never needed it in PvE).

Then a friendly neighborhood Anaconda ventilated it with multicannons and torpedoes. :p

From the first impact to death, was less than 10 seconds.
It also didn't help that my gamepad failed at that exact moment, so I just sorta drifted in to it all. Lol

What is the point of having the big 3???
All die quickly........ no matter the engineering.

No problem have 100 rebuys, even for the big 3 still......

I feel for the starters and grinders for the big 3, they think (like i did) this will help you with PVP....

NO it doens't. only thing that helps is lower rebuy :).

two things:
you haven't intsalled the most expensive upgrade yet - Thermal resist modded reactive bulkheads. without them, HRP and MRPs are pointless - especially with negative explosive resists any hit from a high-yield cannon, torpedos or missiles will totally wreak your hull and/or internals.

the other thing - to avoid getting your shield generator killed by a single torpedo salvo, you need to make sure to have a integrity bonus on your generator mod.
there are different statements about how MRPs help or not help against the anti-shield gen torps, but i would say they don't help and the only thing that helps are the generators own hitpoints. (more then 200)
