1.2 Wings. Simply because the game seemed like it was launched in unfinished state and Wings made it feel complete. Each update since then has felt like just that 'an update', for good or bad.

I'm not hugely interested in interacting with people in the game so I guess it's SHIPS for me! Looking at the big picture, I still think adding proper multiplayer meat was the right thing to do. It just doesn't personally interest me.

I thought Powerplay would be my favourite thing, but it's ended up being my LEAST favourite thing in the game. Boring, opaque, spread-sheety, buggy and impenetrable. Even when it works it just feels like numbers going up and down. Can you imagine Han Solo dealing with this stuff?

Sorry.

I adore HORIZONS though!

CG for me.
*Edit*Although since I can see how everyone voted, this post is unnecessary.

Interesting to see the results. I guess they are in line with the opinions people have voiced in the forum over the last year - concerning Powerplay and CQC - but I am a little surprised "Ships" got so many votes.

Same for me. If 1.2 would have introduced NPC wingmen for hire, too, I am sure it would have become my favourite update of year one.

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly how I feel about Powerplay. I was really looking forward to it, but it's way to spread-sheet like and not immersive at all.

Agree. If I had put up a vote for all updates so far, I'd clearly have voted for "2.0: Planetary Landings" myself ;)

CG for me.

No, I don't think it unnecessary, because I think reading the reasons behind the individual choices is at least as interesting as seeing the results of the poll itself. :)

1.5 Ships for me, but I don't care for the bigger ships. The upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit that came with 1.5 opened up new possibilities and led to fewer crashes.

To me it was Wings. Now don't get me wrong. Very exploitative once people figured out its initial flaws BUT it drastically changed the game play and I think it was the hayday of the game so far

1.0 because after soooo many years I was able to come back, jump into my red overall and head out to the stars again.
And it was an awesome feeling doing my 1st hyperjump which formed goose bumps all over my skin. Never will forget this wow effect.

I dont really MP in Elite. So,

-CG are cool, but feel too arbitrary and forced to me. These things should be a dynamic consequence of the BGS.
-Wings was useless to me, as I've only ever used it once for a few minutes. Came with some nice ships (FDL) tho.
-Powerplay was a good idea implemented poorly. System changes should be based off an improved mission system culminating in a a dynamic CG. I've never participated in the current grind iteration.
-CQC had the potential to be my favorite but with long load times and low rewards for participating, I've not played it since the CQC beta. It needs quicker match making and even AI opponents.
-Ships was... well somewhat lacking in a headline feature. All updates came with ships, and the ships added in ships were more variants than new ships. Bit of a non-starter IMHO.

So... upon reflection, Season 1 was pretty poor as headline features go. Season 2 is looking like a large improvement in this area, so long as FD keep in mind that grind is not gameplay.

For me it was the introduction of limpets that made mining, fuel rats etc a realistic and proper role
.
So that would be 1.3 Powerplay - that I have never ever touched
