What we need is a verify tool

currently i play ED from steam but i know i can start it without steam being on as its third party software.
Ive noticed some bugs for me in game, like:-
1. Being cut off from being able to travel to previous star systems ive visited
2. Being forced to dump all my prearranged missions because of that as i cant get back to those systems, (only 4 or 5 systems away) so not far.
3. Getting wing messages in my game when ive not been in a wing.
etc etc etc

in steam you have a verify tool but as third party software im wondering if that really works so why cant frontier have a verify link on their game start up page , a little more support and a little less trying to sell you everything under the sun.
This would check the tcp stack from server to client
1. make clients happy
2. reduce bug reporting
3. reduce wait times on responses. etc etc etc.

its in your own best interest

What method are you using to select star system to travel to? It sounds like you have "visited stars" filtered out on the star map. If that is your problem you can correct it in the Universal Cartographics side menu. With "Map" selected, on the fourth tab under "Filters". Select "Visited Stars" on the "Show by colour" drop down menu and then uncheck the "Apply filter to route" box.

From the thread title, I thought we were going to be reading about something like the 'lens-lock' from days of old.

I'd be more partial to a good old "x-th word of y-th paragraph on page z" so people learn about the manual :D

its not about the manual, you can learn the manual as much as you like but if its partially broke, you cant fix it with some reading.
it needs to be able to download missing files *rolls eyes*

You were told some posts back that you can validate your game files.

On the Launcher window - select options then Validate Game Files.

dude, i think software doesn't work like you think it does. a corrupt or missing game asset can make you see rubbish textures, miss content, or have the game crash, but it is very unlikely to produce that sort of bugs. my guess is they aren't such.

1. what's exactly your problem and what exactly are you trying to do?
2. see 1
3. what messages do you get?
