I'm bored of all you lot playing whilst I am stuck on my Mac so I went into a shop to buy a copy of windows and he asked "7 or 8.1"
Any Ideas?
8 is supposed to run a little faster but my personal preference is 7, then again if your just using it for ED you may as well go with 8, once its loaded you wont be doing much but starting the game.
I suspected as much; I wonder which is the smaller build? *rubs chin*
Also, how big is the game... just thinking in terms of partitioning my SSD.

I use Win8.1 update 1 and I think it's very good indeed. Once you get used to working without a Start Button it's actually a far better and faster way to work. But it did take me about a week to get used to, and I am a heavy work user.
Is it faster? No. I tested it and it's not faster. It has some very cool functionality such as HyperV built in, but to be honest I think that you would only use that if Windows was your primary OS.
The thing to be mindful of is that Windows 8 is well into its lifecycle now, so more and more you will find people supporting Win8.x but not Win7. Do you really want to be installing a legacy OS right now?
Game in beta is 4GB only.
where did you get 4gb? it only shows as 2.57 in my app data folder?
Hmm, looking at it the update did not remove the premium beta version, so I have two sub-folders.

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.....paid about £35 I think or thereabouts. Assuming you've got a newish Mac, you'll need 64 bit.
What the difference 8 makes I don't know......can't stand it on a PC personally, so that counted 8 out.
On the subject of iMacs. I run Bootcamp with Windows 8.1 on my iMac from mid 2010. It's an i5 with a 1gb ATI 5750. Will this run ED?
