Horizons what would happen if.................. (loading elite core game when on a planet)

i logged out whilst landed on the planets surface, then, went round to a mates house who only had a mac or the 32bit version of the game installed, and then i tried to log in?

has anyone tried?

I'm guessing it would start downloading Horizons.

Have you tried docking on a planet, logging out then starting the game again using Elite: Vanilla?

I logged out of Horizons whilst INSIDE a planet (hit it at speed in Supercruise) :)

Starting E: D up placed me in orbit around the planet, much to my relief :)

Like Ian says, you just find youself in your ship (even if you were in the SRV when you logged off), in orbit around the planet.

You can use this trick if you get your srv stuck somewhere too.

Just exit horizons and load vanilla ED, you will get a message saying terrain not supported and you'll be transported to orbit with your ship and srv back in your hold :)
