What would you do in this game if you had unlimited CR?

Let's say you had unlimited CR. What would you buy, and what would you do?

I would buy the best combat ship you can possibly get, and outfit it for finding and destroying the ships of other players.

I would also go exploring to the extreme reaches of space.

It is nice to see you still have the lust to play the game currently chap. I would do exactly what I have done already if credits were no problem in the game, I would have aimed for the biggest ship and the Elite trading rank.
Sadly I have just lost a little interest in the game since I got 100 million away from reaching Elite trading rank, I have a half a billion Anaconda, a Python, Asp and Diamondback Explorer, but I lack the interest in exploring because that just means different planets in different colors, different stars in different colors and sizes and not a lot of mysteries to follow currently.
I am enjoying the odd fight but I do not feel like fighting for a faction that does not interest me, and none of them really do, just humans with the same aims and greed, politics I understand completely are needed in the game but it's not my bag of fun so that just leaves me to build an Empire of credits and ships until I got a little bored of having hundreds of thousands of credits that are just sitting there waiting for new ships that I actually desire to buy and fly but are not in-game just yet.
I do not blame FD for this, if you play anything everyday for 8 or 9 months you will need a change sooner or later, and this break from the game just make me appreciate the things I do love and miss about the world of Elite.

Collect all ships in multiple configs and then blaze off into the black and fight for my faction and defend the inocent.
the credits mean nothing to me , I just live my day to day life as it comes to me in elite

Yep, it is :)

I would personally buy a Conda and kit it out for exploring, if you get it right you can get just short of 40LY jump range, I would go sight seeing and Thargoid hunting :D

I'd just make some outrageous ship builds and bother the supporters of other Powers. I think a pirate T9 would be fun to try.

I would say more people would play in Open.

Here's a thought experiment - all ships and modules are free. What would happen?

I would probably switch to open play completely as I would no longer worry about my high insurance cost if I got ganked. I would totally go for some PvP action then :)

EDIT: Dont get me wrong, I wouldnt be the guy trying to kill every player I see. I would stay a bounty hunter but would then include player pirates in my target list. Maybe even offer my services as an escort pilot for trades.

Yea I am not bitter chaps, just a little burnt out after a 1000 hours or more, I still like to help out with queries on the forum and Elite is still great fun as an open world space sim.
I agree with Privata that trying to at least ''Fly all the ships'' in the game is a worthy goal and people often have just the simplest of goals like just getting to an Asp, or just trying to reach the Sag A black hole, or just helping out with the UA mystery was fun for me, it cost me 5 million in Palladium for a reward for CMR Red Wizard but it was a lot of excitement in a huge game that just begs for a little more mystery and maybe a little less politics maybe.....Meh....just my tuppence from an ageing CMR.

Probably buy a conda, then switch few days later to courier or cobra because it is clearly more fun to play!
after some weeks I suppose I will reset my save for being still stressed by money ;D

I have a python, clipper, courier, asp, anaconda, vulture, fdl and cobra. Python, courier, fdl and vulture all A spec for combat. By far the most fun is the python for combat, everything else the anaconda. Hardly get in the other ships, save the fdl, though the asp I own has massive sentimental value as it took me on my first exploration trip for 7 weeks to the core and back.

What am I doing right now, exploring again, this time in the annie, be back, well don't know.....

I understand , but then again I remeber back in ye old days in X² I would camp out of a xenon gate and kill them for creds and never got boring to me lol (I did that again in X3 years latter , I got bored after 5mins so I used to be more patient lol)
I just feel elite fils in the gaps I have allways wanted it feels like a life sim to me

Everyone would fly an anaconda and it would be boring.
You could not get me to fly an anaconda even if my life was at risk. fighters all the way
