What would you say for rodents animal pack?

Since we dont have any RODENTS in the game and they are very popular in the wishlists - what would you say for RODENTS animal pack?

I would buy it instantly. How about you?
What RODENTS species deserve to be included in it?

I would go with:
Capybara

I say yes! Absolutely! For me, the Capybara is an absolute must. A species of Beaver and of Porcupine -strongly prefer Old World Porcupine - but I'll take what I can get, would be important to have as well, as we need more smaller animals. Anything beyond that would just be very very appreciated.

So if we took those 3 and added a paca and another rodent I'd buy it, heck I'd just buy it with the first three. I did not include the hare or another rabbit as - and I may be wrong - I thought that family was no longer classified as rodents, though for visualization sake they would practically fit. Other options are muskrats or groundhogs, but I feel they look too much like a beaver. I'm torn on that last animal.

I don’t know if I’d necessarily want a all rodent pack but any rodents we do end up with would be great to me. I prefer packs with a mixture of different animals as compared to actual specific animal classifications although a small cat pack might be tempting but I think I’d still prefer mixed packs.

I'm all in! My three must are also capybara, crested porcupine and beaver. I don't really have any preference between American or Eurasian beaver, but since North America has more options for diving animals, maybe they should go for the Eurasian one to praise the big reintroduction efforts that are taking place

My local zoo has alpine marmots, maras and prairie dogs. Those three would be cool too, although they might be too small.

Finally, but even less likely, a European rabbit or European hare would be a nice final touch.

I doubt that we'd get a pack focusing entirely on rodents (I expect the capybara and beaver to happen at some point, however). But that doesn't stop me from making a list:

1. Capybara - The capybara is literally the most popular animal on the forum. Not adding this animal would be grave error on Frontier's part (one that they've technically already made).

2. American Beaver - A semi-aquatic North American rodent. Three things that we currently lack. Dam-building would be a bit tricky however. Also included in Zoo Tycoon 2's base roster, so that has to count for something, right?

3. Crested Porcupine - A pretty popular species from what I've seen, and I can understand why.

4. Black-Tailed Prairie Dog - Probably the smallest species on this list. The rumours about meerkats getting into the game could open up the possibility of this animal, as they aren't too dissimilar. Also adds another animal to the American prairies.

5. Patagonian Mara - More South American animals are always appreciated. Also could work in more kid-friendly areas of zoos.

6. Brazilian Porcupine - Another porcupine? Why, yes. The Old World and New World porcupines aren't actually all that closely related. Aside from that, the two species on this list are almost nothing alike in most categories (Biome, Continent, Behaviour, etc.). I say we should have both.

7. Black Giant Squirrel - I would put the Indian Giant Squirrel on this list, but it doesn't seem to be kept in zoos. This is a stand in for that species, while also adding to the variety Southeast Asian animals to the game.

On a side note; I said before that I don't find a rodent-exclusive pack all that likely. However, I could see a small mammal pack with other types of small critters. This could be one of the ways we can get the ever so popular Asian Small-Clawed Otter.

Rodents are definitely needed, a porcupine, a Capybara and a beaver would be definitley necessary, paca, Brazilian porcupine and springhare are very welcome.
Oh, and BTW, hares and rabbits aren't rodents, even tough they are seen as sister groups.

Similar to most people I don't see a rodent pack being particularly likely, but also like most people I just like making lists for the sake of making lists. While it was unintentional, the roster I came up with also managed to include at least one species from each continent (sans Antarctica of course):
Capybara (South America)
Patagonian Mara (South America)
Crested Porcupine (Africa and Europe)
South African Springhare (Africa)
American Beaver (North America)
Black Giant Squirrel (Asia)
Rakali (Australia)

The Rakali is obviously the completely unrealistic inclusion of this particular list, but hey they're the same size as the prairie dogs, only slightly smaller than the highly-requested platypus, and would bring attention to one of the most obscure and threatened mammal groups on earth (about a quarter of all mammal species that have gone extinct in the past 200 years have been Australian native rodents, and yet most people don't even know they exist). Alternatively Australian rodents could be represented by the Spinifex Hopping-mouse, which is a lot more common in captivity, as a looped exhibit mammal.

Rodents are the biggest order of mammals, so for sure we need some.
Personally I would like to see a rodents pack, but I believe it would be better to spread them out a bit.

I could see the potential in a small mammals - animal pack. Which could feature animals like rodents, marsupials and small carnivores.

Other rodents could then show up in the more typical continental packs, biome packs or similar.

Great List. Even though the last one is no Rodent. But we absolutely need it (or the European or domesticated Rabbit)
Absolutely agree that we need this one or a Marmot

The Patagonian Mara would also be cool
The Patagonian Mara would be perfect to be kept together with the Indian Peafowl or the Llama. If I remember correctly some Zoos keep them as free roaming Animals

It would be too cool to have a rodent because we don't even have one and need them because they are often in zoos and I chose them:

1. Mara
2. Capybara
3. Porcupine
4. Nutria
5. Prairie dog
6.jumping hare
7. Golden agouti
8. Chinchilla
9. Groundhog
10. Red squirrel
11. Prévost tree squirrel
