What're Your Thoughts: Anniversary Animal

Ok, guys:

Year 1, no anniversary gift, likely because of the pandemic.
Year 2, best year so far, we got the beautiful black-and-white ruffed lemur, my favorite in-game.

Do y'all think we will get an anniversary animal this year, or was last year a 1-time thing?

I think we'll get another anniversary animal and it will more likely be a clone like the lemu was so my bet are for either dromedary camel (if we don't get any Desert pack after all), nile croc or even the emu (the big one missing from the Australia pack).

I've seen it mentioned that Planet Coaster only got one anniversary update, so I'm not holding my breath for a second one. That said, I'd be on board for the dromedary, American black bear, Caribbean flamingo... There's plenty of similar enough animals that would go over pretty well.

I started to suggest the Brazilian tapir before I realized just how much salt that would rub in the wounds.

I dont think we will get something as popular as a dromedary or emu, no matter how much people might hope.
Its much much more realistic that if we get another one it will be a basegame sidegrade like the lemure was.
Imo the most likly ones would be an antelope, a flamingo, the american black bear or a pheasent.
The most "exotic" animal i can see would be the greater rhea, something id really love to see.

If there will be another anniversary animal I am staying with KönigderKaffeebohnen that it will not be a relative popular animal like the Emu and the Dromedary. I think it will be a easy to make reskin from a base game animal and there are some candidates in my opinion:
American Black Bear
Drill
American Flamingo
Barbary Macaque
Massai Giraffe
Nile Crocodile

Another clone. Plausible candidates could be the American black bear (hopefully one that can keep its mouth closed), American flamingo, and Masai giraffe.

Yes, I hope for another. And I do hope it's a clone of an animal we have only one "type" of. For that, I'm sticking to my choice of Masai Giraffe.

If they go for an antelope as the Aniversery Animal im 99% sure it would either be the blue wilderbeast, roan antelope or arabian oryx, being coppied from the black wildebeast, sable antelope and gemsbock respectivly.
All 3 look similar yet different, have a captive presence and would add an antelope to an large and underrepresented region, being the large central landmass south of the rainforrest for the wildebeast (they are the iconic migrating herds of gnus), the same central african zone + the criminally underrepresented sahel for the roan and the middle east for the arabian oryx.

Personally of these 3, i would like the oryx the most, but all 3 of them would be good and realistic options.

I would go for the blue wildebeest from those three. An impala could be another option.

While impala defenetly fit the criteria of nice to have but not much more, idk what you would clone them from as they have a relativly new body plan.
Dont get me wrong, they are a really nice animal, but there long legs and necks seem like something that would atleast need some new animations, which ofcourse could be possible, but when our only other one was just a literal reskin and texture upgrade, i dont know about that.
+ i bet that the Impala as an antelope and a rather plain looking one wouldnt be that welcome by mainy parts of the community. Dont get me wrong, some people will grown over all and every new antelope, but i believe retro fitting the more common and popular wilderbeast species would be the one raising the least amount of eyebrows.
I can also see the oryx pass through, because its distinctly different in its range, biome and the fact that its white, but its not like all of that saved the leechwe from undeserved backlash.
But maybe thats also just me being allergic to all these dismissive reactions to what obviously have been objectivly good and reasonable additions, so i could just be a worry wart.

But yes i agree, while i think its less likly because of effort needed and the sadly negative reaction of not small parts of the community, i still believe it would be a really nice to have animal :)
