What's a fun way to make money?

I'm kinda running low on cash, because I have spending issues. :p

I fancy earning some good money quickly, but not dull grind of those typical places.

I can only think of passenger missions, which are a bit on the dull side, or bounty farming.

I don't enjoy trading at all.

Any ideas?

Surface missions can be a fun change of pace. Either scan or scavenger. With the right faction rep you can get missions for 1 to 3Mcr which generally take 15 mins. Not going to make you rich, but it is a different thing to do

If you want a change of pace then fit an ADS & DSS and follow the Road to Riches: http://edtools.ddns.net/expl.php

Probably more relaxing than fun, good if you have a film to watch :)

I find passenger missions a quick way to make cash once you have good rep with a faction.

My ASP is making me 5 to 10 mil and hour on these not as fun as other things but easy to do.

Long distance passenger missions are pointless but the ones within 150ly are good earners.

Scan missions.

Get a Fed Dropship and destroy the base defences first. Or run the gauntlet with a SRV and try to stay alive after antagonizing a Goliath :D

Not necessarily, the tourist ones with a few stops can easily net an extra few hundred thousand in discovery payments which also increases your faction rep. I've had one or two that gave me a couple million in discovery bonuses, which was more than the payment for the trip, and that's without doing planetary scans just using an ADV to find all bodies and then jumping out for the next hop in the route.

diamonds piracy.

collecting the unknow alien stuff.

too bad you don't like trading, as it helps earning money, but how about state depending smuggling to surface ports? adds risk. or running a rare route between rare systems in boom: https://zoy.updog.co/rares/

and mining for industrial/high tech systems in boom.

Equip your ship with a bounty scanner and go to a REZ (high or low depend on your skills), scan the hell out of the wanted Pilots and shoot all of them :)

I don’t like trading very much either, but I do like doing delivery missions when I am chased by pirates.

Now that I have a fully armed/engineered Python, I make sure I have a valid bounty on me to make sure I am chased each time. This means that I can do a bit of pew, pew on the way.

1. Get yourself a ship that can land at an outpost and carry a decent amount of cargo. From being a newbie I started with a Cobra Mk III, then progressed to an AspX and then to a Python (the bigger the cargo hold the better, so the Python is the best). It should be fitted out for long range trading and/or smuggling, i.e. decent cargo space and a fuel scoop.

2. Look for a system on the outskirts of the bubble that has a mining outpost and has a market which sells high grade metals such as Gold, Silver, Palladium, etc. But important note: This outpost has to be also offering data missions to a nearby system or systems so that you can build up rep.

3. Do all the data missions you can, to build up rep with all factions. You should also be able to make a few millions doing these.

4. Soon you will notice there are delivery missions of a few tons of gold, silver, etc. for millions of credits. Stack them. They will be to the same area in the bubble, normally around 130 - 150ly away. Sometimes these are smuggling missions.
Whenever I need a credit boost I use my Python with 200T of cargo space. I normally make between 4 - 8 million per run (depending on a bit of luck with the number of missions stacked and cargo quantities).

5. Look out for nearby similar systems. Again, do the data missions and get rep there also (so if one system goes into lock down you will have other choices).

I've been doing Transport Passenger Missions that pay between 1 - 2 Mil per run that are usually one or two hops in an Anaconda.

Not spectacular earnings, but nowhere near as boring as grinding other options.

Pick the next CG that has bounty hunting (could be the next one on Thursday?). That way you get the credits and a big fat bonus when the CG completes :)

Thanks for the info guys (and girls?)

I wish Robigo was still a thing.

I think that Robigo was the only time I've ever actually;
A) Been presented with a brilliant challenge, that was fun, and frustrating at the same time.
B) Failed a mission, which wasn't due to bugs, or getting bored of it. Lol

The money was a bit broken, but the gameplay was excellent.
I loved being chased across the galaxy in my trusty old Python. :p

Anyhoo, I'm going see how this CG ends, (I'm currently at 50% for doing basically nothing), and see what the next one is. If it's combat, I'm in. If it's trading, I'm off to do bounty hunting in a HAZ Res, with cargo. :p

Fun times.

That ancient guardian site mission should be fixed now. The guide says it can be done in 6 hours, it took me about 10. It pays 201 million on successful competition.
