Whats a good system to rank up Federal rank?

If you've got Horizons, head to Niu Hsing for data courier to Lebedev station and planetary scan missions. That's what pushed me over the hill to my chrome 'vette!

Someone else on the forum mentioned 55 ursae majoris yesterday. I checked it out and found a lot of boom data missions. It has a planetary base.

Col 285 Sector YF-M C8-8 (Lebedev Planetary) <-> Niu Hsing (Calabra's Clam/Planetary, Gorbatko Terminal/Outpost): 2 Systems, 3 Stations Total

1. Take a fun/small ship. Lots of data missions. Cargo is irrelevant. I did this in a well equipped class-A Courier.
2. The two systems are fairly popular so expect them to go into Lockdown/Civil War/Etc somewhat regularly.
3. Because of the regular lockdowns and civil wars, I just left my Courier at Cabrera's and used my "Space Taxi" to go back and forth to my home system (far away). My "Space Taxi" is a stripped down (no weapons), "D" Rated DBX with a 37 LY RNGineered jump range. The Courier is also relatively low cost so its very inexpensive to have it transported in behind me and just leave it there. Its pretty far out on the bubble so you want to be able to get out there pretty quick - and then back if nothings running... My "taxi" has no weapons so I wanted something "usable" waiting for me when I got there (My Courier)
4. When its running, ITS RUNNING! So prepare to sit down and grind when things are good!
5. Don't take the data missions from the Niu Hsing stations to Wirau unless you are desperate. Merbold Landing (the only station) is 46,000 LS from the arrival point and almost never has anything coming back towards Niu Hsing... So its a long, one-way, trip (7 mins from POA)! Maybe do it ONCE so you see what I mean...
6. Its fairly easy to fill up on 20 data missions each time you jump systems. So 40 missions in a round trip through all three stations. (Lebedev -> Gorbatko -> Cabrera's -> Lebedev...) I was getting about a 12-14% rank increase each round trip (..and this was at "Post Captain" the rank just before "Rear Admiral" (the one that matters!)!
7. You can do a round trip (all three stations) in about 20-25 minutes.
8. So that's about 25% rank/hr at the final step before Rear Admiral! (Lower ranks progress proportionally faster!)
9. Once you get Rear Admiral you can pack up your toys, go home, and buy your Corvette!

* Sothis/Ceos appear to be "done". Some "kind" person appears to have UA Bombed one of them ("Sothis I think) - and I never found anything worth hanging around for... Went out there twice and it sucked both times!

Anything like quince? Or is draconis still viable?

I have Horizons and mostly used delivery missions out of Haller City, Barnard's (don't forget the apostrophe) Star. Ran cargo & data delivery missions to the next-door system, Epsilon Indi. Haller City is large-ship friendly as are the other stations in this system, the number of missions offered depends on system state but Haller City has several (3 or 4) FED-aligned LOCAL factions. The destination system too, Epsilon Indi has three (3) stations, all large-ship friendly, some terrestrial, each with their own, FED-aligned LOCAL factions handing out the same type of missions back to Barnard's Star system and Haller City. Stack your missions to maximize your progress while minimizing your number of trips. There are also enough delivery missions to surrounding areas to keep the CMDR from getting too bored with the grind. Don't worry about earning a lot of profit while grinding RANK, pay your expenses. When grinding RANK, remember the mission. Work on maximizing number of missions, not profit. Just run the missions, grind the rank and the REP, the RANK, the credits, will all flow. o7

Use the boom filters on your galmap before you head off to yonda but, Chakpa is very good for Fed ranking, Python or ASP as medium pads only. Its close to Col 285 Sector YF-M C8-8 so you can hop between the two.
