What's going on here? Am I missing something? How can a whole space station be over 10k Ls away from a star and orbit... nothing?

Perhaps there IS something at the centre, you just haven't found it yet due to its size?

Presumably nothing was indicated in your NAV panel to suggest it was orbiting any body, (after a basic Scan if you have one) yes/no? I suggest it's a bug, you should ticket it!

I'm pretty close, and I was closer before than on this screenshot - I went a bit farther away to get its whole orbital line on the screen. There's nothing, at least nothing my eyes or the lefthand side panel can pick up.

Yeah there's a couple of stations and bodies around that seem to orbit nothing at all

there doesn't have to be something right in the center of the station's orbit. if there is another object, both, the station and the other object are circling around a common barycenter (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-body_problem)

There is nothing even close by. The closest thing is the system's star, 10k Ls away from Yerka City.


Advanced Discovery Scanner says: Nope. Nothing here.

I'm pretty sure they'd also be somewhat dangerous for me to poke at. I've flown right through the middle of the orbit line, and if it's strong enough to allow a station to orbit, I'm sure it'd be strong enough to, at the very least, be noticeable to the Advanced Discovery Scanner, or my superior senses.
