General / Off-Topic What's going on out here where I live?

I thought I was living in la-la land for a few years until recently, plentiful of commercials, not from companies, but from the provincial government, started sending out various "be prepared" commercials over and over again since 3 weeks ago. Survival supplies have been on big sales and military vehicles, some of which are convoys or columns, can be seen on the road every so often. You'll also see military aircraft snooping around my town as well.

I'm practically living in a medium-sized town that is right next to the largest city in my country, as well. Don't get me as a tin-foil-hatter, but I do think that what i'm seeing out here are most likely procedures for public safety if there is knowledge that a certain event will take place. What is more interesting is that all the local news sources aren't saying anything about it, they aren't even saying that it's just a training exercise. Again, it's been going on for 3 weeks nonstop, and nothing like it has ever happened in perhaps a decade. Everybody is talking about it and nothing is being broadcasted...yet.

And please don't get me as paranoid, i'm actually pretty interested in this stuff!

Where are you living at, (What nation) And relatively how close to the borders, / coastline, in air defense terminology?

And here is my guess.

You are a canadian from Ontario depending on the region you can be close enough To the Atlantic end of your country to matter in question of airspace defense. And since there were way too many sea and air incidents involving russian planes and ships? :)

I see. I prefer not to say where I live for privacy reasons but I can say that i'm actually pretty far from any military base, and I am also not anywhere near the coastline. So what's up with the land units then...?

Do Trumph said or did something what can tick off or make nervous Canada?

If not? Than my guess is just as good than yours, and what's only left is military exercise. because there are no signs of Imminent war in your area. Mid east? That can be accounted for. My guess? There will be war on there.

Y'know, by your avatar I'm going to guess Canada but maybe that's just a really cunning deflection? ;)

Actually he publicly written down what's his nationality, and state in his bio, and in given situation i took the effort to look on it, but yeah the flag is a clue enough. :p
