Newcomer / Intro What's going on with commodity market listings in EDDB/INARA?

Often I see some top sell prices for LTD/Void/Painite etc. with highest price/low demand but they're updated every few minutes for the same high price.
When I come there the actual price is really low but they keep updating in EDDB/INARA for high price.
Are they fakes?

Those prices are not always as up to date as you think and those flyboys with billion ton carriers will rapidly meet the station demand in one payload.

Market's totally bonkers, at the moment. The update and server split really did a number on it. And by proxy on 3rd party tools as well.
I don't even think the 3rd pary tools are properly updated to take values from either client cleanly.

It's especially bad when EDDB says X station has Y mod in the size and grade I want, and when I get there, nothing even close to that is true. Suzuki station supposedly has 5a FSD's... nupe. not a fricking one. This is the 8th station I have gone to in a row that EDDB says carries it, but actually doesn't. This is getting frustrating because prior to odyssey, EDDB was accurate, and now, it's almost like the game KNOWS I want a certain module, and makes sure it's not where it used to be. I'm ing sick of chasing after modules that don't seem to exist in any ing station anymore.

Oh, shades of 2015 - "hunt the module" - many a tear was shed back then, plaintive cries on the forum "where can I find a 3C Gimbal Beam?" - such fun!

but ingame selling prices seems wrong too... but in concordance of inara/EDDB
Flied 4 stations in the same system (bactrimpox) and every market saying monacite worth 700kk elsewhere. Couldn't sell it from more than 300kk
