What's happened to Robigo?

Edit:
It was a dry period... just happened to be a lot longer than normal. On my return it was back to normal.

--------------

I've been sat there for almost an hour now and I've only seen 4 missions worth going for.

I'm an elite trader and switching between all 3 modes.

I've even come right out of the game, closed window and gone back into the game... the exact same missions are there waiting for me.

Something happened?

Now you're just going to upset people with talk like that lol.

Possible that FD have tweaked it server side due to everyone exploiting the mode switching aand mission stacking.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. I just came out of the game, left it several minutes and went back in... same useless missions are still showing for all 3 modes.

Robigo nerfed! :) This is a good thing. Although I will miss the missions and drama of stacking 15 together and barely scraping delivery of 5 of them ;)

I've never had to wait more than 20-25 minutes to fill up 72 tons. I'm going to deliver the few I have and come back to see what happens.

It was worse than that... Over on Reddit somebody posted the exploit, a few days ago, that basically allows you to make 20-30 million an hour without ever leaving the station.

It wasn't long before Zac dropped in to say how interesting he was finding it.

So I'm guessing a quick fix was made for that.

You should be aware that upon logging in to a session, the game will select a transaction server that holds information such as the BB missions. You can see the transaction server number on the bottom left of the screen after logging out. If the same transaction server is selected for each session, you'll see that the BB only refreshes at the nominal refresh interval (10 min?). Switching between modes is know to cause a different transaction server to be selected, but not always. We need to ask ourselves, why not? Well, different transaction servers are chosen when there are lots of pilots in that part of space and in your geographical region. They'll need more than one transaction server to handle the load. Since they balance the load among the transaction servers, you'll notice that the transaction server typically changes with nearly every session. However, if there are very few players at the moment in your geographical region, and very few players within your geographical region in your part of space (i.e. Robigo station), you'll probably get the same transaction server each time. Ask yourself, is this a time of day when most people are playing in my geographical region?
.
EDIT:
I live in Southern California. When most people are at work on the East Coast, I've observed that the transaction server doesn't change much. After the East Coast finishes dinner, around 4pm my time, I see the transaction servers start to change a lot.

What? The Robigo bulletin board "exploit" still works the same way it did before, since missions still switch upon logging into open play, backing out, and logging into solo. I just tested it myself on a bulletin board in Yakabugai. You might get unlucky and have the same set of missions appear twice, but that's because the bulletin board doesn't truly refresh after each logout / login.

This exact same thread was around roughly a week or so ago.

Never understood why people posted exploits on open forums

Because humankind's hubris will always be its downfall... People just can't prevent themselves from bragging about how they discovered some new way to trick the game, and by doing so cast out a huge "nerf signal" into the sky.

Out of my own curiosity, what was it? I can literally think of no way to exploit a known game mechanic in this way. That's crazy.

Edit: I ask this assuming it was patched. If not, no worries, keep it to yourself.

Ah, will check it later tonight, sounds good! Depending on how nerfed it is ofcourse, but the mode switching was just silly.
