Kind of glad I got bored of it 3 weeks ago and stopped playing if this is going on... Got to a kill ratio of >10:1, realised I was just doing the same over and over, and gave up.

no it cant be dealt with.....and even if FD did find some miraculous new way of stopping p2p hacks...someone will just make a better version to override them.

Right, so someone caught using a hack can't be dealt with? The guy in that video (still up on YouTube) is clearly cheating and we have his name.

There have been dev posts and even comments in the newsletter saying they are doing things about this. They just aren't as open to say who they have done it to and exactly what kind of exploits/hacking they have been banning people for.
So if all you want is something from FD saying they are acting on these then look at previous news items and news letters. If what you are really after is a personal reassurance that this player has been banned even though it has nothing to do with you other than you refusing to play the game until you have been told, then you might not be playing Elite for some time.
I'd think that the devs would have a desire to instil confidence in their system by making an appearance in threads like this and saying 'thanks for bringing this to our attention...'
They also need to get rid of the silly no call out rule. There should be an official cheating video thread where people should be named and shamed.

Perhaps. But the current hacks are just too simple and countermeasures are somewhat trivial (but for some reason still not implemented by FD)
IMHO As soon as the cost of developing hacks gets too high - hack developers (in case of Elite
angerous we are talking about one guy, a student in Germany with too much free time on his hands) move elsewhere and the hacking will stop.
