I'm aware of symbols that appear when you're hit by these things. However, this thing persisted for several minutes.
Um... What's that?
Can someone link me to a thread explaining these? I have been looking around but can't find any.
Maybe a corrosive weapon? I can imagine a longer time until the effect wears off...

One of the devs did say that they would be explained in an update to the manual - presumably the one avaiable through the launcher - after release.

Can't be it because I made someone get this status effect and I wasn't using any corrosive weapons.
I did some research (got shot up in training missions) to figure these out. Seems the "()" symbol simply means a *edited, I was wrong*. I got more of a "{}" symbol one time. Not sure what it means yet.
Side note, malfunctioning weapons are pretty cool if you haven't had them. They just kinda shoot without you triggering them. I suppose that could end badly.
*Edited: Internal Damage. I guess it actually shows you the symbol with a description up in the info panel...but only when/if it happens to your ship.

Yep, it means internal damage. There are a few more symbols as well that appear on the right of that one. I have seen at least two more. One that looks a bit like an explosion symbol. Not sure what those mean.
