Newcomer / Intro Whats the best free software to use to record your game play?

I have been having loads of fun in game and a few friends want to see what the game is actually like, as they do not believe its the same quality on the website, and I am looking for software which will record my game play. It has to be freeware and not something you have to pay £XXX "expensive" amount of money for.

If you have an NVIDIA graphics card, their own Shadowplay will do very good recordings, HD and 60 fps. Open Broadcaster Software is my current screen capture utility of choice for stuff that shadowplay can't grab.
