What's the downside of accepting a contract?

Why is there even a choice when the player is getting offered a contract for "Extracting the genome"?
Are there any risks? Can we loose money if the extraction fails?
Why would I decline the offer?

When you accept a contract from a division your loyalty from the other divisions goes down a little.
If for example you don't have any loyalty from science and you get a entertainment mission you might be better of refusing it and try to do a science mission first.

I said when you accept but that should be when you complete the contract.

if the Contract fails I assume that you might lose some rep with that faction, but that is just pure speculation I have no real idea if there is anything bad that could or would happen

yer am guess you lose a bit of experence with the other department. so it best to do contracts for each one

Looking at the new videos released today it seems you can have a contract for each division on the go at the same time.
