Whats the inspiration of the ships names- TANKS!

Brit cruiser tanks? Cute eh.

Here's some names for actual elite ships.

Tiger trader
Panther clipper

Where did we hear that before...

Those are the names of the losing team, actually. Sherman was the name of the winner.
Where did you find this list? I'm into tanks but I've never ever heared of this.

That's an interesting find! This means I've got an Asp, an Adder, a Viper and a Python in my World of Tanks garage also... But they don't see much action lately, what with my Asp in Elite taking up all my free time :)

The Sherman was on the same team as the Crusader , Churchill, Matilda and the Russian T34. In fact it was not just the Americans that used the Sherman the Brits used them as well.

And that team won WW2, unless my Grandfather was lying all these years.

You need to watch the discovery channel more

This is highly off topic, but the real winners of WW2 were US, USSR, Germany and Japan. Check the GDPs.
The British victory was a Pyrrhic victory at best. The price of the US help (thus victory) was to gave up the Empire. Present day, Indian GDP, for example surpasses the GDP of Great Britain. If they could stand against the Germans, they would never agree on the US terms. The Empire would still go strong, and GB would be the biggest economy on the world.

Only an imperialist would think that, for the working class the UK is a better place to live in now than it was in 1938.

Are you suggesting that the enslavement of India was a good thing?

Either way the Matilda was on the winning team, stop diverting attention from the actual error in the thread:D

US yes, Japan ?? Germany and some Arab states won then peace, but not the actual fighting.

Good for GB for sure. Huge massive market, cheap labor, resources etc.
You think it is good live in the UK right now, fair enough. If the Empire would still be around, it would be 3x better, imagine that.

So no, GB didn't win, they just surrendered to the USA, not to Germany. You could choose between a German speaking and an English speaking subjugator. It is only natural, you select the one that speaks your language. Hence the majority of Russians went with Stalin and not with Hitler.

I don't know if this is sexist of me, but I wouldn't buy a Faulcon Delacy "Victoria", at any price. It just doesn't... portray the kind of image I'm trying to get across. ;)

I would love it if there was at least one novelty ship in the game. How about.. The Pigeon. Looks terrible, sounds worse. No shields, tiny hold, short jump range, one tiny weapon. Incredibly expensive. Only the 'leet players will go for it, just because they can.

I am very much interested in armored combat vehicles. Those snake designations are not widely known.
I do not believe the obscure tank names were the inspiration for the names of the Elite ships.
We tend to use the names of animals, preferably predators, for combat vehicles or weapons.
I think it is most likely a coincidence.

No Gecko, Moray, Boa, Anaconda, Fer-De-Lance or any of the other original Elite ships. It makes sense that there'd be a large overlap between two groups of things named for deadly reptiles as there are only so many to go round.
