Whats the logic behind this?!

I am sure someone else mentioned it before, but here whats happened:

I stripped a fuel scoop on my Python and took the trip to Robigo.
Stacked a few missions... 15 or so... worth 3-4 Millions each.
On my way back, after a few jumps, i have been interdicted (it was more an INSTAdiction) in an uninhabited system by an lawless eagle. No police, just a small lawless scum with a death wish.
I blew him out of the sky in seconds but i seemed that he scanned me and all but one mission where failed.
Whats the logic in this? He died a second after his scan 200LY away from inhabited space. How can this affect my missions?

Even if he was sending out his information just before he was stardust, i still should have 200 years left to complete the missions.

Gameplay will always trump "realism" any day. You had 15x 3-4 million in missions, there has to be an element of risk. That was it. Next time, don't stop and fight if you can't risk being scanned. Honestly these missions are pretty easy to begin with, so once in a while you run into bad luck. Chalk it up to price of doing these missions and just go back and try again.

I repeat here myself: try a faster ship (hint Cobra MK3), submit, run away from the npc until you are beyond his sensors range, then go merry on your way.
As for the logic maybe the eagle transmitted a report back to his base via ansible.

If that be the case in our lore here, we had prices of other stations when we are at the commodities. :p

My fault was, that i thought the scan had to be from a police ship to fail the mission. But this circumstances throws up my question.
It would be a much more interesting design, if you can kill someone who scanned you before he is jumping away to an inhabited system to avoid consequences.

Had to chalk up a few million with them authority ships following right into the last station on my list , soon as i jumped in he was on my 6 ... followed me to the station and i knew i wwouldnt have time to get in so burst a few km's away to lead him far out while i headed on a large loop round , i managed to boost about 8kms from it and got to the cage at the station and clipped it turning me sideways and getting me acanned by the station authority instead lol 9 mill with 2 failed missions but an enjoyable few minutes of quick thinking to come up with a plan to get in the station (nearly han solo'd it lol).

Just did 6 earlier in an Asp that was D rated, all successful. I dont think they are any harder than 2 months ago.
