What's the maximum number of peeps in a sandbox?

Ok, I used the search function, got a bazillion (unrelated) hits, so I wonder, what's the most peeps one can expect in a sandbox park. I've got a bit over 8K peeps right now, pretty sure it's peaked over 8192 if that would matter, but not sure.

Also, yeah, with 8K peeps it's turning into a slideshow even with a pretty competent video card, but I'm not sure which is the choke point for rendering, the video card or CPU. (don't have a second monitory handy to put on the second output to observe this)

Mods are welcome to move this to the thread that undoubtedly already exists that I haven't found. :)

supposedly people got up around 25,000 back during alpha (that was with no scenery and few rides), but I think after alpha people have been maxing out around 15,000 by then the frame rate is practically 0 and the CPU will begin to cook. Of course if you have a ton of scenery you will struggle to reach 10,000
