Powerplay Whats the meaning with powerplay

Whats the meaning to get pledged if all you get when you kill enemies is bounty on your head and notoriety and no merits?

You are killing other PP ships? If so, Conan sums it up well.

find an enemy system in Anarchy, go to nav beacon and rack up merits. still really not worth the trouble cause I've somehow still managed to get bounties on my ship doing it. And I can't really tell if it actually effects undermining in said system. and I've also gotten bounties on me for killing Wanted/Enemy ships in my PP control systems.

Powerplay isnt super-simple to master & you cant really just jump into it on your own and get anywhere. It sounds like you need to find established player groups from your factions to help you get to grips with it. They all have presence on reddit (usually they link to discord servers, voicechat optional) For example..
https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteAntal/ Im totally impartial, but that one is best ;)

They help you help them & you learn as you go. Its mutually beneficial. if you dont like the playergroup, you can move on, but youve learnt a lot (often accidentally on many other game areas) in the process. GLHF!

Once you pledge to a Power, you have to go to a Hostile Power's Control System (or Expansion System). Only shoot NPCs that are labeled 'ENEMY'. You will earn merit vouchers for the destruction of those.

You do not earn merit vouchers in Exploited Systems and you do not earn them for defensive encounters (except PvP).

Power Bounties are still bugged, but you can pay them off at an Interstellar Factors contact to wipe the outfitting penalty.

Power play could be described as the real politik simulator in the game. It takes shape as border conflicts and as you grind merit you get more and more Cr per week. Winters pays me 50 mil cr as long as I keep staying at rank 5 for her.

Yeah I'd definitely say they're bugged. I logged out last night with 11,000 bounty for killing enemies in an anarchy system. logged in this morning and it's now 55,000

What you're describing isn't a bug, though. The bug is that that power bounty increases the cost penalty for outfitting and ship transfer. It should not. It does.

Anarchy systems will still issue Power Bounties. That's part of the new system that's working as intended.

You get rewarded for killing your power's enemies.

Your power's enemies don't appreciate getting killed so they put out a bounty on you. It actually makes sense since I'd want to knock off the guy/girl who's killing MY peeps, right?

Making flying into enemy territory a little more dangerous, too.

Each power has a "thing" you might want. One has a mining laser that can be used as a weapon. Another has the Prismatic Shields. Look at what each has to offer and decide if you want their "thing" bad enough to grind for it.
