What's the point of AI disabling your thrusters and then leaving?

Had an ai disable my thrusters, i waited for him to finish me but instead he bumped me 2 or 3 times and then left... So i repaired my thruster to 31% and tired of wasting my time i stop repairing and tried to powerup and i could so i just went to a near station.

So i ask, why would the ai waste everyones time? Why didnt he just kill me? I don't mind a Cmdr that does that, but ai? How are they reasoning that at particular moment i need a good ahah either kill yourself or repair?

Perhaps the ai damaged itself bumping you enough that it was time to do a runner?

I thought it was a bug mostly, because i retracted my weapons and did nothing, i tried to find a system that was in view to jump but couldnt so then i just waited and he eventually left.

I either had great difficulty using it or you can't use it in combat and after a certain amount of time.

Maybe he suddenly remembered that he forgot to turn off his kitchen stove and he doesn't have for the insurance? NPCs have life too you know...

Strange situation you have experienced. A NPC which took out your thrusters then left so you could repair them. Lucky for you that you could repair the thrusters so they worked again. Almost a griefer NPC :p

Your thrusters were at 0%?

Good question, i just couldnt move forward, my throttle was at 100% and i just floated. I remember hearing the thruster disabled, then everything was lost, i couldnt do anything, good thing the ai couldnt do anything either lol. I do remember that when i stopped the repair it was exactly at 31%, by stoping the repair the thrusters got re enabled and i started moving forward again.

Also it was a conflict zone, the whole point of being there is to kill each others senseless.
