Whats the point of the point defense turret ?

The title sais it all really.
I bought one of these to go on my sidewinder, I couldn't find any way to assign it to any fire groups and when i went into battle it did absolutely jack.

could anyone plz tell me where i went wrong? if anywhere :rolleyes:

Must have changed in the latest build at one time they became a liability firing sorry miss firing at anything.that moves Just for pose value attracting attention. Presume they are for missile attacks.

I have not tested them out since last patch. But its function is to shoot down incoming missiles. And you need to restock ammo to it from a spaceport.

I read they changed something about that it can not be in a firegroup. So I dunno how to use them, if they automatically fire back. maybe someone els can enlighten?
