Newcomer / Intro What's This Blue Icon on the Galactic Map?

Hey Folks:

This has got to be a stupid question, but I can't find this on Google.

I'm trying to identify a Blue icon on the Galactic Map. It is not listed on the legend. It is NOT the bookmarks icon - that's listed on the legend, I have a few, and I know where they are.

This Blue icon sort of looks like a filled in backwards capital "R" with a down arrow on its left side.

What is this? I can't figure it out.

THANKS!

i guess you mean the bookmark icon for a body or station in system.

the upper one?

bookmarked in this case is a station in system.

Backwards R ? Not sure what you're talking about, but there are only 3 blue icons that I know of :

- Wing (doesn't look like backwards R)
- Bookmark (maybe looks like backwards R)
- Current Location (an arrow)

Goemon:

That's it! The upper one! Yes!

So, exactly what is the difference between a "normal" bookmark and the "Backwards R" bookmark?

Is a "normal" bookmark just something I put for the system in general, and the "Backwards R" is a bookmark specific to an item (station, planet, colony) IN the system?

Not quite. The Engineer's bookmarks are orange and are listed in the legend. :)

Really? Mine are the down-arrow blue bookmarks on the GalMap but those are bookmarks I put on myself (I now remember), the actual Engineer Location symbols (not bookmarks, i.e. not listed in bookmarks list) are a square with a hex-nut graphic all in a decidedly purple or magenta colour - the only orange ones on my maps are mission markers. However I'm on a PC so your PS4 things might be different.

Just to be clear - I was wrong in my first post, the ones in the original question are GalMap icons showing that there is a bookmarked location in the system map, as Goemon and Dregory said.
