What's this highlighted information in the launcher version?

Has anyone found the "news" to which this refers? I looked but couldn't find any reference anywhere.

there was a bug that impacted some launcher versions where it wont prompt you to download the current version like usual.
you'll have to go to the store page and re-download the elite dangerous launcher from there manually to get the latest version.

Can confirm, I had the same message and download the current launcher from my store account. No ill effects but nothing obviously improved, other than no more message.

Ok, Mr. Thicky here...

I don't see any reference to this in the "News". I can't find any option on my account to get the current launcher.

Where exactly can you get the fix for this? And is it really necessary - if it was that important, I'd have imagined Frontier might have been a bit more vocal about it, or put some more obvious message in there, etc?

Update your launcher and you'll get to

Mind you - after I did so last night - I had an absolute pain of time sync issues which was only solved by using an external NTP server.

Maybe I will leave it as it is then :)

That still doesn't tell me how to update the launcher though... :)

Log in to the Frontier Store and download the launcher of whichever version of Elite you bought. The new one is significantly larger, about 140Mb, probably because it contains DirectX installer components.

There is no specific "launcher" download, it just lists the game - I am dimly beginning to think this is the same thing, as when I first installed it, it only downloaded a small file from the store... Am I right?

Thanks, by the way :)

Yup - that's it :D

My Downloadable Product is still listed as the Alpha - but the launcher will still do it's thing.

If you run into the same NTP problems as I did - I recommend using the NIST time server instead of the Microsoft one.
