A Secret Update is Coming with DLC?
🤔

I just got an update Monday, But frontier / planet coaster 2 hasn’t announced it yet…..It appears that this update is going to make it easier to build dark rides,,,,Because now,,,,all of my indoor buildings are completely “pitch black dark” inside. I’ll post some screenshots soon. But I did notice that hardly anybody or anyone else has gotten this update just yet., so my guess is; frontier and planet coaster 2 developers are definitely keeping it on the wraps for now. Remember everyone,,,,

How would you know if it's hasn't been announced yet. Even I don't know of updates ahead of time, before it's public.

Im 100% this person also got steam to do some file updates, maybe excecutable or something, and now they think its an actual update for the game. Which it isnt. I also never heard of updates going out to a few people and just days later to the rest of users

Well thats how youtubers get them early.

I don't think there was any update on monday, at least nothing DLC or content related. The darkness inside buildings has been there since day 1 for people with videocards with Ray Tracing (and the option enabled). Maybe the person suddenly enabled it and/or got a new videocard? In any case it had nothing to do with a DLC or update.

Some youtubers DO get early access to DLC and/or updates. This gives them the opportunity to make some video's that can be released alongside the new DLC to give people a nice overview of all the new elements.

I don't get it...
Why should they offer an (500 MB) update for PC2 if this won't change anything within the game?

But maybe it could be an update for a closed group, too.

As we know since PC1, each dlc is coming with an game update. Even if you won't buy the dlc, you need to waste your hdd. Is it the same on consoles?

As ive explained above, its not necessarily a update FROM FRONTIER. Most times its steam repackaging files, updating the executables and so on.

Steam sometimes seems to update games without visible changes because it might be updating shader caches or other behind-the-scenes data, or the update could be a small client-side update to Steam itself, rather than a game update.

If you guy own a Steamdeck you probably seen that happen there aswell. Everytime you boot up the game refreshes all shader files for installed games
Google is your best friend guys✌🏽
