What's this near (obviously not near) the North America Nebula?

I kept seeing this star formation on my 5000LY journey. Just wondering if anyone can tell me what/where it is?

Wondering if it's worth a visit on my way back...

I have seen this same question pop up couple times on forums in last 2 years. Its area with "known real " stars. Those are stars have been found in reality. They are placed were they should be and stuff around them is made by computer algorithm when it created the elite galaxy. As results we have small area with a lot of stars that can be easily spotted from far away. There is couple places like this in the game.

Its pretty nice are and someone will there what is its name or i if i find it from google

Some threads that i found:

Fantastic responses thank you, and noted, I'll be visiting there :)

It's the siren call of NGC 7822! Everyone gets sucked in eventually, lol. Well worth the trip! I've led an expedition out beyond NGC 7822 and we "lost" a couple of Commanders along the way who just had to make the detour. I can't blame them though!

Went by there last year sometime, definitely worth a look. Saw my first black hole around there, swiftly followed by the rest of my first ten black holes.

Sounds like a nice little money earner not too far from the bubble :)

Is it all one system or do you jump to every star?

Lol, 99% of threads that start with "what is this??..." inevitably are about NGC7822!

Its well worth a visit. Although you will come to dislike cmdr Starfalcon, he's got his name on pretty much everything in and around 7822!

I agree. I visited that place and damn, it's a weird spot. Bunch of blue giants and dozens of black holes all packed up along a straight line. The sky is amazing from planet surfaces there.

That they are on a straight line (more or less) is an artefact caused by the limited accuracy in determining the range of the stars as seen from Earth while angular accuracy is very high. This results in a elongated area containing the stars that points at Earth. There is another such place in the direction of Barnard's Loop. I think it is called the Witch Head Nebula but maybe it is one of the other smaller nebulae in that area. You can find it in the Galaxy Map.
