As I understand it, the. Capital ships are persistent entities, so when they aren't fighting, they're still in game just hanging out.
Super bonus points for the devs if they add in lore reasons for this, like, they orbit stars and launch a bunch of drones to refuel

Is it just me that can't help but think the target UI icon for it looks like a slug with a ring piercing it's neck?
Well, quite. I just wondered if they'd always been in the game, parked, or if they were a new thing, and... if there was something to do with them.
Look for it in some of the more active Conflict Zones - quite a thing to behold when they drop in! And afterwards, when you see them just hanging out...they are simply Basking.
