What's with the terrible engine noise in 1.3x?

After a short break I logged back in, downloaded 1.3x then...

What have they done to the engine sound? In SuperCruise it sounds like a cross between a London tube train and the original Starship Enterprise. In normal flight it's just a dreary rumble that really grinds the eardrums out.

My Vulture used to sound cool now it sounds like an electric disability scooter with worn wheel bearings.

I appreciate FD want to advance the game but why do they keep goofing up on trying to change the sounds etc.?

I'm really liking the tube train noise on the Vulture now.

Mind you I drove a Hauler the other day (long story) for the first time in months and months, and that sounds like it's talking to you! Like some sort of crazy chatter going on! Weird.
