What's worth visiting in NGC 7822

Hi all in the Explorer forum.
I'm a bit of a political junkee so this is my first post here.

This is in regards to things to do on the old Riedquat - Reorte line.
So I went out to the Alliance Listening post at HIP 19072. Dropped off some Lavian Brandy for the folks at Cooper Research.
Visited the Alien crash Site at HIP 17403 , Planet A 4 A , Lat: -34.96 Long: -141.37
Picked up a couple of UAs.

Visited a bunch of sites in and around the Pleiades Sector.
Like the Fedreation PRE Logistics Support Sites:
Alpha: 42 n Persei
Gamma: Pleiades Sector IH-V c2-5
Delta: Hyades Sector AB-W b2-2
Epsilon: Pleiades Sector JC-V d2-62

Got interdicted by Thargoids

Stopped in at Maia.
My Asp "The Green Dream" slightly trashed after trawling through SC with UAs on board.

Kept on going out to the California Nebula to visit the Alliance Research Bases (as always Lavian Brandy is appreciated everywhere I travel for the Alliance)

Mahon Research Base
HIP 18077

Mic Turner Base
California Sector BA-A E6
Planet 4

The California Nebula is a fair ways out of the bubble so I decide to go on at least 5kLys to unlock Palin later.

I make The Heart and Soul Nebula my next target, and head on out when suddenly I see:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/325686-What-the-heck-is-that
Good old NGC 7822. Yup I did the classic explorer noob thing of "Hey what's that?" and going to have a look.

It's not far out of the way. Saw my first black hole - in fact there were TWO in that system. But then after a couple of jumps and systems turning up nothing, I boshed on towards the Heart and Soul Nebula.

Now in the meantime Frontier have acknowledged a bug in the Alliance Rescue CG, and have promised to fix it and extend the CG by a week.
So I'm kinda keen to get back to the bubble, as with "No Reward" for any Tier - I'm pretty sure that there is a plot point hanging off the CG, I want in.
Anyways, I've grabbed my 5kLy milestone and started back to the bubble. Now what I would like to do is to stop in at NGC 7822 on the way home and grab some high value data.

And here's the point of this post:
Is there a way (using the eddb.io API or something) to get a listing of systems & bodies out there?
That way I can make a "worth visiting in NGC 7822" list because I will only have an hour there.

I found you can get the entire list of all bodies in the galaxy (that have been put into eddb.io) from https://eddb.io/archive/v5/bodies.json

WARNING
That's 2.6 Gb of data to maninpulate.

I'll have a go this afternoon and cull to a listing of everthing within a hundred Ly of S171 7
and then sort by value of bodies in system.

It's "data verification". Which has just as important a role in exploration as the first-time flag-planters. ;)

At least, Universal Cartographics must think so, because they still pay 66% of the first-finders fee for verification data. Even data that's already been verified by 10,000 CMDRs before them.

*makes wavy-hand gesture*

A list from edsm will be precisely that - a list of systems known to edsm - there will probably be systems in the area which are not known to edsm. Probably got all the bright ones though, which I suppose is what's being asked for.

I didn't find that cluster to contain anything especially interesting - from what I remember the massive hand-authored star systems contain some planets which are outside the normal parameters, massive Rocky worlds, that sort of thing, but no especially spectacular sights. Worth a visit, of course. There's probably some good SRV driving to be had.

Probably not what you are asking for OP, but I found NGC 7822 to be one of the most beautiful places to visit... Lots of O-stars and black holes and varied views of the nebula.

Oh yeah - the area is undeniably beautiful and amazing!
And travelling there is full of lovely moments too:

Now - How do I exploit this for maximum BGS efficiency?

Goto: https://eddb.io/body
Set Reference System to S171 15
Set Body Group to Compact Stars.
Click Column Ref

And voila!

A list of valuable systems to raid for explo data.

Well I just went there for the views and because you are supposed to, otherwise why stick that asterism viewable throughout the bubble? ;)

@MalcYorks - I hear ya, but I'm a busy man with limited time.
There's an Alliance Rescue Operation on, and I reckon there's a plot point in that.
And the Diplomatic Corps have about three major projects going.
The ruins are being found daily.
And I need Palin. So I gotta limit my time and grab what I can and get back to HQ.

But it IS nice out here -

Oh Man - S171 8!
That's some low hanging fruit!

Two close black holes. a bunch of easy scan stars. no travel. That's some gold right there.

And a whole little second solar system 4kLs away.
High metal content world.

I'd park here for the night, but man that place looks HEAvY!
Is there a way to tell how many G's your pulling at the surface?
(checks system map) - ah yeah, naah that's a silicate vapour atmosphere.

I'll go park somewhere else for tonight
Come back when atmospheric landings are a thing.

This spot will do.

Missing the Purer Water of Hamilton. Funy the places you end up for politics.

Next stop - Mahon Research Base.
I've heard rumours that Andy Gill has been found and is being kept there.
That's a bad news base that one.
