Engineers Whats wrong with the rendering of objects moving :( this is really really bad...

I took a couple of months break from Elite, and now when I returned to Guardians release I noticed something really really bad. As long as an object is moving, or you moving your ship, there will be 2 of each object inside of each other, kinda looks like there is a double, reminds of ghosting, you see one star dot becomes 2 when turning the ship. It's the same with everything else that moves, like using beamlasers on a moving target there will be an extra beam laser next to it, moving only the camera doesn't cause this. It causes a really bad experience for me. Ship static UI is not effected by this but text on a system or any other object I have targeted is effected. I will include a screenshot. You can see the stars in the background becomes duplicates as well.

Im playing on a monitor that supports strobelighting, and I don't have any motionblur or such. Other games are very smooth, monitor supports 144 hz but running in 120 hz for taking advantage of the strobelight effect.

That's is a really weird artifact that I haven't noticed. Are you sure your monitor's "special effects" are causing this? Also if your FPS differ from your monitor's frequency it will cause all sorts of tearing and weird graphical glitches. (Hit Ctrl+F to see if your FPS is at least 120 in your case)

Tried to get into a ship and move the ship around, and look at the stars, you will see. I have tryed without strobelighting as well and something that I know, my TV with "Game mode" on, makes the screendarker and eliminates blur effects, I played Elite with that Television for a long time, until I changed to a monitor that had support for the same effect, and I played Elite with this monitor and it worked really nice, but then after this break, something happened, I don't know what they have done to make it this way. I bet you do suffer from blur effects on moving objects, I disabled strobelighting and use default, if you look closely, you see it.

I play on a large tv screen, 40" Sony Bravia, not noticed any blurring. I do get weird audio echo if I use my Razer headphones though, so I would assume it is particular to the setup you are using. Have you got another monitor you can try to test this out?
My headphone problem was solved this way ;)

Yeah Dan Dare, im gona try out a different monitor, the only thing that has changed over these couple of months, is a new graphic card, i upgraded my graphic card into an Asus Strix GTX 1070, maybe thats what causing it, if you don't experience the same. Im gona try another monitor.

Worth doing even if the monitor is small low res, at least you narrow down where the problem is. I leave my expensive phones in the drawer and use cheap alternative because the echo was driving my wing mates mad.
Good luck with your test ;)

Ok I tried on my 55 inch Sony Bravia, and it worked perfectly and no duplicates what so ever, and I found out what the problem was. The reason why I can't see this issue in other games, is because the background in Elite dangerous is black, this monitor have a slight ghosting :/, which I didn't know because I had the screen pretty far away before, now I have it upclose, I have never seen that before in other games. Im glad I learned something new.

That echo sound thingy sounds terriable mate. sucks when you can't use the things you bought.

Glad you got it sorted ;)
My audio echo is probably down to the sound card software being duplicated by the headphone software, but since I found a work around that works I can't really be bothered to spend hours I could be playing messing around with my setup.
I have a HOTAS I use and the boost button only works when I have the control window for it open as well lol, this game is hard to play in all sorts of ways!

Good to know you found the source. I was starting to suspect my old sight when I wasn't able to find anything no matter how hard I looked. :D

So? Elite works great on a large screen? I was thinking that the screen refresh rate would be too slow and I would get a lot of ghosting?

Re:Elprez

Hi there, yeah if you running the TV as standard it has a huge delay and is really terriable, but you can change in the settings to "impulse" and it removes that delay so the picture looks always clear but it gets more darker, regardless how many objects are moving, always crystal clear text and so on.

I think it depends on the screen type - I'm guessing OLED would be better than LCD and plasma (faster grey-to-grey performance etc)

Upgraded mine to a strix 1080, and still getting the blurring you're getting since my EVGA 970. It is weird cause the HZ limit in the options menu doesn't reach 60, it goes to 59.97 or something, which is really annoying me

I think we already established that it is 99% fault of the monitor. Try another one, if you have that chance.
