In between work and family, I was able to reach Elite in exploration on both my Xbox and PC commanders. I was also able to reach Rear Admiral and obtain a Corvette on my Xbox commander. 2019 brings with it the notion that I don't want to grind for another Vette on my PC commander. XD. And finally, 2018 brought me another exploration ship in the Krait Phantom. I do still love my AspX for the view especially in VR, but it's nice to have something different to fly for a change. For 2019, I want to drop out of supercruise and watch the flames peel off my nose cone as I enter an atmosphere, see clear blue sky only to drop through the clouds into a thunderstorm with wind gusts and still have to land on my station pad near an ocean. I could go on with the underwater ideas, but Obsidian has already discussed it in a video.

Spring: made mad money in game, but C&P soon drove me away.
Summer and Fall: played lots of other games
Late Fall: got the itch to fly again about a month before this latest update. Tried out the new exploration stuff--neato, but at the end of the day, exporation just isn't my bag. Found a ridiculous trade that worked for one glorious week before the system state changed, and also toyed with the revised engineering stuff (which I like).
2019: will have to check out mining, but I'm betting another long break from the game is coming again. There's only so much to do after my close to 1000 hours in game, and much of it just isn't that exciting these days. But that's ok--sooner or later, either Elite will get better/different or I'll find another space game that gets me my fix.
