When am I ever going to trade anything worth?

I hadn't played for 4 weeks, I grew tired after checking a few dozens of systems and couldn't find anything worth my time. I decided to give it a try again today and checked 2 dozens of systems:

- Large population in the fringe of populated systems with little traffic (most of them had only 2 visitors, myself included) - check
- Extraction/Refinery <-> Industrial/High Tech - check

And not one single good round trip. Should I just give up on looking for trade routes and just join the online tools bandwagon? Because at this stage this is beyond ridiculous, I am exploring more than I am trading. Well at least that reminded me why I stopped playing that game.

How do you feel about using external trade "helpers" such as crowd-sourced commodity price lists?

Considered trading rares ? It's a hoot because you spend your time travelling big distances, seeing new places, doing some bounty hunting as you go and at then end of it you get a whopping profit.

You aren't going to find anything better than 1,500cr/ton one-way, and IMHo you should play the game Elite is famous for being, a COMBAT game. It is a diidly-ding (Darn comment filters) of a lot of fun.

Havent found any high profit / per ton routes when i started, and bounty hunting npcs payed much better till recently. But trip profit is also relative to cargo capacity too. Mix it up w some missions , always donate some time to check gal map of neighboring systems if u travel alot Aka extraction near high tech. I still have no good luck as supply and demand look like theyve been dried out when i arrive. Change it up.keep it new and fresh good luck
